The Lodge Service
Once a month we hold an Anglican service in the local nursing home, The Lodge, at Wayville. Our next service there is Wednesday 19 June at 11.15 am.
Gregorian Chant Group
The Chant Group meets again this Wednesday 19 June in the Parish Hall at 7.30 pm.
We will continue singing the Venite – Psalm 95 (94) Oh come let us sing unto the Lord – if you want to find it in advance. Also, Salve Regina and Paternoster.
Next Sunday: Corpus Christi
Next Sunday, 23 June is Corpus Christi, the feast when we celebrate the giiving of Our Lord in the sacrament of the altar, his body and bloodin the bread and wine. The 8 am mass has no hymns and a sermon while the 9.30 mass is followed by a procession of the blessed sacrament. The 9.30 mass has hymns with a choir and a sermon, and there is morning tea afterwards. There will be said Evensong with no hymns from the Book of Common Prayer at 4 pm this Sunday.
Next Sunday: Pentecost 3
Next Sunday, 30 June we keep the Third Sunday after Pentecost. We now enter into what is sometimes called the ordinary time, the Sundays without a special theme. The Sundays are numbered as after Pentecost Sunday, the remind us that we are the church living in the season after Pentecost. The 8 am mass has no hymns and a sermon while the 9.30 mass starts with the rite of asperges, the sprinkling of holy water to cleanse us. It has hymns with a choir and a sermon, and there is morning tea afterwards. There will be said Evensong with no hymns from the Book of Common Prayer at 4 pm this Sunday.
For the next Fellowship Group meeting on Tuesday 2 July. We will meet at the hall at 1 pm, and the meeting will be followed by a cup of tea. All welcome.
Every month, usually on the first Friday, we remember at a special requiem all those whose year’s mind falls in that month, the recently departed, and any others for whom prayers are requested. Our next monthly requiem is on Friday 5 July at 5.15 pm.
Parish Council meets next on Sunday 7 July, 2019 at 11 am.
The Feast of St Benedict
We cordially invite all parishioners, their relatives and friends to join us in commemorating the life, work and witness of St Benedict, founder of the Benedictine monastic order, on Saturday 13 July at St George’s. The celebration will commence with Mass at 12 noon followed by a shared lunch in the Parish Hall. Archdeacon Michael Whiting will be our guest preacher.

Cell of Our Lady of Walsingham
Every month, usually on the first Saturday, we have a special mass in devotion to Our Lady. Our parish has a special devotion ot Our Lady of Walsingham, the famous pilgrimage site in England, and has a wonderful statue of Mary in her role there. The Cell meets next on Saturday 3 August at 9 am for mass followed by a shared breakfast.
